OFA X-Rays
OFA X-Rays for Genetic Testing
Veterinary and breeding professionals know that testing for genetic diseases in pets is important for preventing abnormalities and producing healthy offspring. Here at Roanoke Animal Hospital, we offer preliminary screenings beginning at 4 months and under 24 months of age for pets but in order for us to do a full OFA X-Ray, pets must be at least 24 months old.
The purpose of administering an OFA X-Ray screening for these diseases is to hopefully identify and prevent genetic abnormalities in breeds that could be spread in the breeding pool. At Roanoke Animal Hospital, we offer OFA X-Rays for the hips, elbows, and patellas.
